The TCDLA listserv is provided as a benefit for members to allow free thought, assistance, and respectful debate on criminal law matters. We do not censor speech or discourse on the listserv. Even if posts are tangentially related to criminal law, we allow them if the posts: (1) are infrequent; (2) direct members elsewhere for additional information or ask that the poster be contacted off-listserv; (3) do not use the listserv as though it is eBay, Craigslist, Facebook, or other similar websites; (4) are not notices for non-TCDLA-sponsored-or-cosponsored CLEs; (5) do not defame others (false statement made with the knowledge that it was false or with reckless disregard of whether it was true); or (6) are not outright political statements (including advocating for judicial candidates, i.e., vote for candidate-X because candidate-Y is terrible). In addition, out of respect for the busy schedules of all members, we encourage you to send all variations of "thank-yous" and "congratulations" directly to other members rather than post them on the listserv.
